Mark Jones's Profile
The Oregon Coast has been a big part of my life since I helped my parents pick out a nice little beach cabin in NW Lincoln City in 1981. I spent a good bit of time here on this beautiful coastline from that point until moving to Lincoln City full time in 1993. I was involved in the hospitality industry for many of those years, as a high end Fine Dining Server and Dining Room Manager, Restaurant Manager, Wine Cellar Manager, and then as a Multi-Games Dealer and Casino Games Supervisor. I then worked offshore, on vessels in the seismic research (oil exploration) industry. That profession took me to a lot of interesting and beautiful countries and allowed me to live wherever I chose...but I always came back to the amazing Oregon Coast. The more traveling that I did, the more I appreciated what we have here. In 2010 I made a move from Lincoln City to the beautiful, quaint beach town of Neskowin and I continue to love living there. I decided to settle down and enjoy my home here in 2016 and started my career in the Real Estate profession. My father was a very successful Real Estate Broker in Texas, while I was growing up. I loved going with him to some of his listings and always loved seeing different homes and neighborhoods. It seemed magical that my dad could help people find and purchase their first home, or sometimes their dream home. I always thought that I would probably go into the Real Estate business at some point in my life. In 2016 I knew a number of local Realtors who encouraged me to get my license and start learning the profession. I was fortunate enough to get to work with some very successful and experienced Real Estate Brokers and gained some great experience quickly. I love most all aspects of the Real Estate Broker life. Meeting great people from all over the country and world. Helping guide their property search, with a good local perspective of the many varied communities and neighborhoods up and down the Central Oregon Coast. Providing the advice and insight that helps people make informed decisions during the process of purchasing properties. Assisting first time homebuyers with understanding the path to home ownership. Finding just the right property for clients who are looking for their "Forever Home". I've made quite a number of friends from previous clients and that's a great feeling! What makes me a great agent is being about to utilize my previous experiences to help my clients have a great Real Estate Buying or Selling transaction. Every transaction provides a Realtor with more valuable experience to help with future clients. I've learned quite a bit in the time that I've been a Realtor. When I was searching for my "perfect home", I looked in three different states on the West Coast, saw at least 40 different homes, and learned a good bit from the Realtors that I was working with. I had a great experience with the Realtor that I purchased my home with and she actually helped mentor me later when I became a Realtor. A few other local Realtors also made themselves available to ask questions and learn from, even if they worked for other Brokerages. This is one of the advantages of a smaller town, I guess, but I was very appreciative of that type of cooperative vs. competitive attitude with fellow Realtors, that I've experienced almost every time. Real Estate is a People Business. I have good people skills from all of my previous career experiences. This helps me a lot in all aspects of communication with prospective Buyers, Sellers, Lenders, Title Officers and other Realtors. I've been told by quite a few people that they loved working with me and would love to do so again. That really makes me happy! I think I'm good at getting all parties in a transaction to look at issues objectively and find a fair solution that can work for all parties
